Biography
Emma is a dancer from Cambridge who is renowned for her precise technique, exciting performances and warm, friendly teaching style. She started learning with Pauline Sayhi in 1998 and since then she has studied with top dancers from the UK, USA and Egypt - too many to list here! Particular influences have been Randa Kamel, Josephine Wise and Aziza. Emma is especially drawn to the modern Egyptian style of bellydance, but has drawn on many influences to develop her own dancing style. She also enjoys experimenting with fusion styles, and has created dramatic pieces that blend Flamenco and Gothic influences with the beauty of Oriental dance. E-mail Emma.

Teaching
Emma has been teaching in Cambridge since 2005, and began teaching in Ely in 2006. She is a member of the JWAAD Teachers Association, and received a distinction in her Practice of Teaching. Her classes are fun, informative and often challenging! Emma believes that students should not just learn technique, but also how to use it, and so classes include choreography, improvisation, and musical and cultural background information. Performance opportunities are arranged for those students who wish to participate. You do not need any particular fitness level or costume items to start learning, but you may find after a while that you start buying lots of sparkly things! Performing
A bellydancer adds a touch of exotic glamour to any event. Emma is a dynamic, spellbinding performer who has been captivating audiences for many years. She has danced at Planet Egypt, A Taste of Dance, Bellydance and Burlesque as well as local festivals, May Balls, parties and weddings. Each performance is unique and tailored to your requirements, but will usually consist of one or more 15 minute sets using a variety of music and props. Performances are suitable for the whole family! You can add a mini-lesson after the performance for a small extra fee. This option is popular for parties and group demonstrations.
